The digital development models which have established or are establishing themselves on the market mean that traditional IT systems are having to evolve towards more flexible and dynamic approaches.
Management of data, regardless of origin or format, leads to a process of dematerialization which allows information to be made available more simply and conveniently (in digital format) across the whole range of processes. The technologies currently available which can add major benefits in terms of increased automation are as follows:
- Robotic Process Automation (RPA) - automation of highly repetitive business processes, based on rules and using data models. RPA allows a digital workforce to be created, replacing manual and traditional labour by executing processes, passages and repetitive actions much more rapidly and with reduced operational risks.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) - machines are now able to simulate learning, decision-making and human actions through an intelligent technology layer enabled by advanced analytics and cognitive computing.

The Group has set itself the objective of assessing the technologies which will come on the market shortly, evaluating carefully complexity and innovative potential to optimize choices in terms of cost and real generated benefit. Experimentation is carried out in specific business scenarios using a “test and learn” approach.
